About Us
At Sustainable Life Solutions, we educate and empower individuals in fostering an understanding of trauma's profound impact on the individual and collectively. Our primary objective is to assist people in acquiring practical skills to enhance resilience. Trauma and resilience transcend cultural, racial, ethnic, and social boundaries. As human beings, we all share a common thread of facing trials and celebrating triumphs.
Through our Professional Development programs, we strive to support Direct Service providers and other "Helping" professionals navigate the mental and emotional load of working with highly traumatized populations. Employing our Trauma-Informed Handle With Care Approach to Resilience, we co-create the tools needed to build and sustain the professional capacity to serve.
Our Family Life Education courses assist individuals and families in understanding the potential influence of trauma, developing practical resilience, and cultivating ways to foster healthy home cultures.

How It All Started
Naketta Lowery has always worked in a space that helps families get through their days. In the early 2000s, she owned and operated a childcare program. Although she was passionate and enjoyed this work, she felt as though something more was needed.
She quickly learned that in order to support healthy childhood functioning, she needed to figure out a way to help the family as a unit. She returned to school to earn a degree in family science and community development and became certified as a family life educator.
The passion Naketta felt for families in need found her taking a closer look at the relationship between trauma and resilience as the root of family interaction and functioning. She realized that this was a large part of the puzzle for helping families and later discovered that the same thing can also be at the core of helping professionals (Social Workers, Clergy, Faith-based practitioners, Therapists, Educators, Childcare Workers, Law Enforcement, and the Military personnel).
Our Core Values provide a strong foundation from which we do our essential resilience work.

What People Are Saying About The Sustainable Life Solutions Team?
“The tag-team coordination between the two presenters was excellent. The presentation was very informative. The presenters were engaging & made the training/information relatable to the workplace, classroom, home and self. All parts of the presentation contributed towards understanding “the meat and potatoes” of the training…from the different activities, to the worksheets, to the videos and even down to the little items provided on the tables to keep fidgety fingers involved (an excellent idea btw).I would highly recommend them for the age groups/individuals of kindergarten to the season saints.”
